Levy Facing £9M as Cold Consequences of another bad buy

By The Boy -

The exit of Serge Aurier from N17 is taking as a long as seasoned observers might have expected, as it emerges that Daniel Levy is allegedly seeking to recoup exactly what he paid for the player, some 3 years ago, according to Guiseppe Muro for the Evening Standard.

Quite how the Ivorian’s value has even kept pace with inflation, let alone not gone backwards in a collapsed transfer market, is miraculous. Muro believes that Levy’s valuation is some £9million too rich for AC Milan’s blood.

In a sell-to buy environment, Tottenham risk the Italians looking elsewhere, there are a good few right backs being mentioned this summer.

Spurs cannot afford to skip a beat in this window, this squad is still in a process of being licked into shape by Mourinho, and his salvage job cannot afford to be handicapped by the continued lack of churn.

The acquisition of Højbjerg is nothing shy of exciting, so let’s keep moving forward.

I hope you are more successful and don’t piss off your client base as Levy has.

I’m not overly impressed with him too to be honest. He’s no yousef atal. Such a Tottenham player he is. Flamboyant and efficient in his work.

I think max Aarons might be brought in. I’d let them two fight it out.

Anything is theoretically possible, so there is hope. As you say, even a poor Arsenal won something again.

Had Aurier not cut out his many mistakes under Poch and made an improvement under Jose especially since lockdown,we need two experienced RBacks for a long season. What if we sell him and the new signing gets injured,we can’t rely on Tanganga playing out of position for a long period. Can we not sell Rose and Foyth and just buy a second RB.

I’m well optimistic about next season too. We’ll get it right and will get it right quickly. Tight at the back with fast attacks. Gonna bury much teams. Our dangerous attackers gonna bombard them. Exciting times a head. 🌚

Yeah I admit I was disappointed especially with the Chelsea performances but next season will be a fresh start and some new players could make all the difference.

Forgive my pre season optimism!

I really can’t see anything wrong in levy chancing his arm. Its business. When I’m doing a bit a buying & selling its how I operate too.

I kept hearing that too, so was expecting big results in those four make or break cup finals against Chelsea and Man U last season. Especially as they had rookie coaches and he had a big point to prove to clubs that had recently sacked him.

Unless we bring yousef atal in (proper proper baller) I wouldn’t be sad to see serge stay for one more season. (Further up the pitch) good squad player that’s well liked at Hotspur way, brings good energy to training sessions I’m told. We’ve got a lot of games to play. If castange came he can go though.

If Levy makes a loss on a deal, he finds a way of clawing some back from others, and not just in transfers of players I bet.

Off topic but… it’s not that difficult to win a trophy is it? Even an average Arsenal managed it this season. The 2 domestic cups are prime fodder for a club like us. We should be intent on winning them. Europa league too. That’s 3 we have a good chance to win.

Mourinho is the man to win a tough one off cup match as well. He’s a master tactician. I’m confident we can do it. COYS!!!

Someone needs to introduce Levy to the phrase “Cutting your losses”.

It’s all well and good playing mind games, but the world knows Aurier’s limitations and the state of the market.

No good will come from this Mexican stand-off.

Typical Levy, he prices any Spurs player at double the market rate and offers any selling club half the price they are demanding., with a ten year payment plan and a packet of luncheon vouchers. It didn’t go well with Eriksen when he valued him at circa £130 mill and sold him a year later for £16 mill. He’s a despicable runt.

Problem is Levy has already scented blood with the PEH/KWP deals. He probably feels he can control dealings with all clubs now.

It’s really the same old story, Levy’s decisions are holding us back massively on the pitch, bad buys and overpricing of players he wants to sell, how can he think that Aurier will bring anywhere near what he was bought in for? He needs to get talking to AC and meet somewhere in the middle and get this deal done so we can move on with our plans to replace him. The scary thing is that Aurier isn’t the only player we need to move on to be able to bring in, if every deal takes this long we’ll be waiting years before Levy has actually sold or moved on the players we no longer want. Saying Levy needs to get real and start thinking of the team for once before making a profit is wishful thinking, that is why Spurs will win nothing while under his tenure. Lewis, Levy and ENIC out. !!

We need to move Aurier on. Milan could be the only buyer so we have a weak negotiating position. £13m could be a little light but certainly I’d take £16m if I were Levy. I hope they can get a deal done.

In terms of the way players values are accounted on the books, we would still make a profit on Aurier, even if he was sold at £13m. £23m over 5 years is £4.6m per year, so at the moment his value on our books is only £9.2m.
