Levy did not consider highly-rated manager even though he was keen on Tottenham job

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of managers since the departure of Antonio Conte.

The Italian manager was sacked earlier in the season following his public outburst and the north London side decided to appoint former midfielder Ryan Mason as the interim manager until the end of the season.

Tottenham are looking to bring in a permanent replacement for Conte and they were linked with the former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.

The 35-year-old was relieved of his duties at the German club recently and he is currently without a job.

There were rumours that Tottenham could look to bring him in as their new manager, but the move seems to have collapsed.

According to a report from Evening Standard, the 35-year-old German manager was open to taking over at Tottenham Hotspur but Daniel Levy did not consider him for the position.

Apparently, Nagelsmann was ready to consider the Tottenham opportunity even though the north London club do not have a sporting director in place.

Nagelsmann is regarded as one of the brightest young managers in european football and he could have been an exciting appointment for Tottenham.

His high-intensity attacking football could have been a good fit for the north London club. Tottenham have a number of quality attackers at their disposal and the German’s style of play would have been ideal for them.

It remains to be seen who comes in as the permanent replacement for Conte in the summer now.

The Premier League side have been linked with moves for Arne Slot, Vincent Kompany, Xabi Alonso, and Luis Enrique as well.
