Levy Charged Food Bank £2560 A Week For Using Stadium

By The Boy -

It never ends and it will never end. Of course, those that still blindly cheer anything that ENIC do will manage to put some class of spin on this, merely the latest of Daniel Levy monogrammed fiascos.

IN a nutshell, if you’re going to help out, you help out. Indeed, anything else is not entirely helping out, at all.

Letting a food bank use part of the stadium, and then billing Haringey Council for said food bank at the rate of £2560 a week is a new low. This information only came to light thanks to freedom of information request from a local resident, and it took Private Eye magazine to break the sorry tale, with London Economic have also covered.

At what point did anyone at ‘Spurs’ think this was vaguely ‘alright? Over £30,000 was spent from money earmarked for the most vulnerable in the borough, on Spurs!

How much of the £2560 would Spurs had to pay out anyway? Where is a statement from the club? Will Private Eye be sued?!

Private investigations are also underway to establish what the situation is with the continued purchase of land in Haringey and readers will be kept in up to speed with all findings.

Don’t worry about that debt man. Minor. Tottenham will always be OK. These are just chapters in our journey. A journey that will out live us. Enjoy the ride. Hold tight.

You mean back when Spurs won the double? When Spurs forged their identity as a footballing side? Happy to live there and bring it to the present. You want to sell your soul to the devil for a wooden spoon pot, poor, very poor levels of expectation.

Levy loves people like you, happy to eat some nuts while he scoffs caviar…

I’ve served my time away. I’m 55 and don’t go away (outside London) anymore. Though I would pop up to anfield (if someone’s driving) as I ain’t seen the new stand. I’ve been to the rest. I may go up to Leeds again one day. (If someone’s driving. I’ve a feeling I may start going away again when I’m a pentioner. Day out and that with the boys🌚. I wonder if there will be a spurs pentioners coach for away games. There should be one.

So true. They’re a property investment company and Spurs are their tenant as you say. As landlords they’ve decided to renovate the tenant’s premises and charge the tenant for the work. As well as that they’ve got the tenant to pay for other buildings in the surrounding area.

Can you think of any other tenant putting up with lease terms like that? It’s because there is no lease, it’s structured in a way that ENIC look like owners of Spurs when they’re just majority shareholders acting as landlords. Levy makes himself a CEO in order to run the tenant company’s affairs the way he wants so he can drain all the profit away for more building work irrelevant to the football side.

And correct, Levy and Lewis have no interest in football whatsoever.

It’s a f**cking stitch up mate…

When have I said stop supporting the club? There you go making c**p up again and trying to put words into people’s mouths. You don’t listen to the points being made, any criticism of the owners suddenly becomes anti the club. That’s just garbage, and you know it.

Then I guess It helps when you have no other actual response to the points being made. ‘Real fans blah blah, my manor blah blah’… when was the last time you went away to watch your team? They’re the most dedicated fans, you can’t tell anyone sh*t…

Love him or hate him. Fact is he’s won more in his career than any Spurs manager ever combined.

Commonsense and all history tells you they were Mourinho choices. Each and every one. Woodward’s role was merely to secure them.
It was the special one’s tried and tested formula – outspend everybody else, win the big prizes. But this time, the most recent and relevant time and with the biggest spend of all, he was fired for taking his team closer to the bottom 3 than to klopp and Guardiola..

That was what happened when he was allowed to far outspend the pace setting coaches of the modern game.

Now those dominant coaches are far outspending him. So too the rookies Frank and Olly.

Tellingly the bookies have not been persuaded by bullish predictions of spurs glory issuing from certain obscure pockets. Perfect time therefore for the obscure pockets to lump on, large. Wonder how many will…

Also rans that beat his Utd team and got to a Champions League final? I guess this is a squad built on the 7th highest wage budget and 15th highest net spend after all. ‘Also rans’, interesting. What does that make Levy after 20 years and one League Cup? 😂

East Stand

He has never needed to persevere with younger players because the squads he’s had have been stronger than ours. If we have a talented raw youngster then the player ahead of them is probably not as good as at other big clubs. The Kane/Parrott example is very much an exception.

He took the job and they’re a massive club, he knew what he was walking into. He’s managed in four countries and Manchester was a stretch? The job was beyond him, no shame I guess but the excuses I hear (like he never got his own players up their) is just made up drivel by his fans. Perhaps he wanted another 250m and in the end Woodworm said “enough’s enough and the football is boring. See ya… “

He was out of work and none of the bigger clubs would touch him, until Levy took a chance in the hope he might get top 4. He might last a couple of seasons, win a wooden spoon trophy and Levy sacks him when they fall out over budget. Which they eventually will…

mourinho falls out with teams in third season the narrative goes, but that is teams used to winning that they then think they want to win playing possession etc. surely our lot of also rans can accept winning at any cost and knuckle down and commit 100% to his tactics. Will be a sight to see if they can next season

His wages are his wages. I don’t think THFC money is expanding the ENIC property empire. Tottenham money for Tottenham stuff for ENIC to sell one day. They ain’t putting any money in and they ain’t taking any out. We’re on our own out here

You are correct to a certain extent. They are not taking money directly out of the club but any surplus cash earnt by the club as opposed to Enic goes towards to expanding the property empire which directly impacts the NAV of Enic. Furthermore, Levy is the highest paid CEO in the PL and his salary is paid by Enic.

Untrue, I am afraid. Any thing that THFC earns is Enic’s money. We are owned by Enic and are merely their tenant. There was approximately £320 mill on our balance sheet which was earnt by our on field endeavours. This money was spent on the new stadium, instead of strengthening the team. Any revenue engendered by the new stadium goes to extending the property empire. Get with it, Lewis and Levy are the vampire squids of PL football. they don’t even like football!

Anyway I reckon that was levy just showing the world his ruthlessness knows no bounds. Goods yard and them other sites I think that’s ENIC money. I’m not sure for sure though. Anyway don’t be vex with the buyer be vex with the seller. HARINGEY COUNCIL

He is greedy for Enic and thereby for himself. He extended the property empire in your neck of the woods by the use of money that was engendered by his tenant, THFC. In other words, money that could have been spent on the team was used to acquire more property in your borough. This is a direct contradiction of the myth that THFC is self financing and that Enic do not take anything out of the club. If you feel that you can defend Levy for attempting to furlough staff and by charging Haringey rent for storage, I feel sorry for you.

Who’s levy being greedy for? I don’t think that £30k was for him. It was for the club. Agree or disagree with it its how it is. Levy’s ruthless. £30k off the days £110k to Haringey council. Only £80k that day.

I don’t see that many faults in him. He’s been in this high pressure game for a long time, of course he’s obviously made some mistakes (while winning) I’ve always liked his confidence/arrogance. Great for the premiere league. I was glad when he returned. He’s good for Tottenham right about now. He’s fallen deep in love with us

That’s not the point I was making really.

People are saying that he was undermined and couldn’t make any signings he wanted, this clearly isn’t true.

Secondly given that amount of expenditure you’d expect something in return, and even then didn’t win either of the two big trophies League or Champions League. Was it League Cup, Ropey League and FA Cup? That’s ok but Utd and their rand expect title challenges and going far in the Champions League.

Like I say, he didn’t turn them around in a way that is relevant to Man Utd. He failed…

In both cases Hazard was already in the team, de Bruyne also had Lampard in front of him and Salah had Pedro and Willian.
Who was in front of Kane? Soldado.
Who was in front of Bale? BAE – who I actually like but is no Hazard or Lampard in his position.
If we sell troy parrot because he wants to play but we have kane and four years later parrot turns out to be as good as kane it’s not like you want to go back and sell kane. it is a lazy narrative the media uses all the time on mourinho

I remember being chuffed when the club allowed the use of the facilities for the foodbank. It took away some of the bad taste left by the grab for tax payers money to furlough staff and cut their wages.

If this is true it undoes all the good things done by the use of the ground by the NHS and Hotspur Way. Please don’t tell us that they charged the NHS for the use of the offices etc.

I should mention that he sold Lukaku to Everton for £28 mill and then bought him back when he was at Utd for £75 mill. He also sold De Bruyne and Salah when he was the manager of Chelsea. Perhaps he is the ideal man to work for Levy after all. They compliment each other nicely.

East Stand
East Stand

I’d like to if I may, attempt to debunk this growing myth with the Jose fan base that he wasn’t allowed to bring in a single player of his own choice during his time at Utd.

Here is a list of some of the biggest transfers he made there. As you can see, it’s a mix of players he’s worked with before or players from the Portuguese league. (Jose is from Portugal in case anyone forgot).

Here we go;

Victor Lindelof – Benfica, £31m – June 15 2017

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Paris Saint-Germain, free – July 2 2016

Nemanja Matic – Chelsea, £40m – July 31 2017

Fred – Shakhtar Donetsk, £52m, June 21 2018

Romelu Lukaku – Everton, £75m – July 10 2017

Diogo Dalot – Porto, £19m, June 6 2018

None of these look like players Jose would be at all averse to, quite the opposite in fact. Lukaku is exactly the kind of Drogba style center forward he loves.

I’ve not included Pogba or Sanchez in this list because at a total of about 150m, the poor love had to deal with this dross he was no doubt handed in their case!

So please, enough of this ‘Jose was undermined at Utd’ already. No he wasn’t, he was backed and backed very well. Rate him all you like, but perhaps get your facts right?

In the end he couldn’t turn them around, deal with it…
