Latest report claims Spurs will make formal approach for 57-year-old next week

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to the latest report by The Independent, Tottenham want to appoint a new manager ‘in the next 10-14 days‘.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has reportedly emerged as the new first choice for Daniel Levy and co who have added him on the list of the shortlisted managers in consideration for the job.

The renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Postecoglou is being considered by Tottenham now who have included him the list of potential managers. But he also claims that Spurs will keep their options open in order to avoid another Slot like situation.

The Australian has already won two trophies this season with the Scottish club and has the opportunity to complete a treble if his team beats Inverness in the Scottish Cup final on June 3rd.

And as per the report, Tottenham do not want to distract him right now but are expected to make a ‘formal approach‘ for him after the cup final.

Other managers mentioned as options Spurs have strongly considered include Roberto De Zerbi, Graham Potter and Marco Silva but it says that they are all seen as difficult options to hire compared to the Celtic boss.

Tottenham are also without a sporting director after Fabio Paratici had to step down following his ban on football.

Spurs will also need to replace him with a suitable man who could provide the club with a sense of direction and organization.

Whether they will look to sort that out before they make a formal approach for the Australian or not remains to be seen.
