“He’s on the list” – Fabrizio Romano confirms Spurs are now looking at manager with 4 trophies in 2 years

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been added to the list of candidates being considered by Tottenham Hotspur for their vacant managerial position.

The club has been searching for a suitable replacement for former manager Antonio Conte since his departure in March.

Tottenham’s pursuit of former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann fell through despite multiple meetings, and talks with Feyenoord manager Arne Slot also abruptly broke down.

Following these setbacks, Postecoglou has emerged as a contender for the position, with Tottenham reportedly identifying him as their new first choice after the Slot situation.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Postecoglou is indeed being considered by Tottenham, but emphasised that the club is keeping their options open to avoid another situation like Slot.

They are being cautious in their approach and exploring multiple possibilities.

Romano told GiveMeSport:

“Postecoglou is a concrete option, for sure. He’s on the list, but he is not the only one.

“After what happened with Arne Slot, Tottenham want to be careful and also have different options.”

Postecoglou has enjoyed a successful tenure at Celtic, securing four trophies in two seasons, including two league titles. He has the opportunity to complete a treble this season if his team triumphs over Inverness in the Scottish Cup final on June 3rd.

Former Premier League goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has also backed Postecoglou’s potential appointment at Spurs.

Schwarzer believes that given the right time and framework, Postecoglou has the ability to transform Tottenham into genuine contenders for trophies and elevate them to the upper echelons of the league.
