According to a Calciomercatoweb report, Antonio Conte wants Tottenham Hotspur to try to sign Alexis MacAllister as soon as the January transfer window opens.

After Argentina’s opening loss to Saudi Arabia, the 23-year-old was included in the starting lineup, and he cemented his place in the team after a string of brilliant performances, becoming a key member of the Argentinian midfield that went on to win the World Cup. He also made an impact in the final, assisting Di Maria as Argentina took a 2-0 lead over France.

His ‘incredible‘ performances in Qatar have attracted the interest of a number of top clubs including Tottenham. It was reported last week that Antonio Conte ‘registered interest‘ in the player after being impressed by him and it was also said that the director of football Fabio Paratici has ‘given the green light‘ for the signing.

And now according to the report from Calciomercatoweb, the Italian manager wants Mac Allister signed ‘as early as January’. The report further adds that the Argentine will cost around €35million.

However, after his World Cup success, Brighton are expected to demand much more for the Argentinian, especially if he plans to leave in the winter window.

His value will increase and more clubs will be interested in him if he keeps playing the way he has in the league and at the world cup this season.

And if Spurs can sign Mac Allister before the end of January, it will be a big statement from the club.
