Tottenham are attempting to finalise a deal for Sporting right-back Pedro Porro before the January transfer window closes.
Pedro Porro has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur since some time now with manager Antonio Conte keen to address his team’s needs at the right-back position this month.
The right wing-back position has been one of Spurs weak areas this season with none of the current options in Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty and Djed Spence impressing the manager.
Antonio Conte has primarily relied on Royal as his first-choice right-back this season, despite his poor performances. Matt Doherty has taken over the role recently, but he has failed to make any significant improvement either.
And Conte has also not given many opportunities to summer signing Djed Spence, a player he has publicly stated was not his signing.
The need to upgrade the position remains high on priority for Spurs and Porro has been identified as the main target.
And now according to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have had discussions with his current team Sporting CP in the last 24 hours, about a possible move in the current transfer window.
It is yet to be seen whether Tottenham Hotspur and Sporting CP can reach a deal, but the London club is looking to complete the signing as quickly as possible.
He also claimed that the player ‘dreams‘ of a move to the Premier League but it is all up to the clubs now.

Porro would be a major upgrade to Spurs’ current right wing-back options and will be the type of player Conte looks for in a wing-back.
The 23-year-old has been fantastic for the Portuguese team this year, assisting ten goals and scoring two himself.
