The full interview with Kim’s agent is over at the Korean site Naver, however, once one begins to attempt to translate and piece together in a lucid format, it becomes apparent that a summary from someone fluent in both Korean and English is really the answer. Thankfully, the journalist Hyung Seo has been able to make sense of the tale.
Based upon the information before us, most likely, it appears that getting Juan Foyth loaned out took so damn long, that the opportunity to sign Kim Min-jae before the Chinese Super League window closed on September 30th was the cause of the problem. Has the Argentine been registered with VillaReal, then there may have been a chance.
The original piece on Naver is a protracted story of no sleep and numerous frustrations over details of the transfer being leaked to the press, and then ultimately, Tottenham threatening to return for the defender in the January window, as time ran out.
Anyone one would think these transfer windows just popped up out of nowhere, eh?
I read the original Korean article to get a greater insight. The interesting thing I gained was that I know no Korean at all.
Wales has their own football association so as far as the decision makers at uefa are concerned, thats NOT ‘home’ same as Davies (Swansea’s academy also).
But Bale IS as he was at Southampton’s academy, CCV (USA) IS as he’s been at THFC since he was 12 & Dier’s NOT as he was in Portugal 🤷🏾♂️
Surely Rodon qualifies as home grown from Wales.
yes – I guess there is that. It just boils down to the fact though, if they were not going to play foythe anyway, then why not develop him in u23’s?
So, does that mean Min Jae was 1st choice & when that became impossible Škriniar was 2nd option & now apparently, Rodon is next in line?
They’re ALL non ‘homegrown’ so how would they have been incorporated in the squad anyway judging by the fact that 2 others still at THFC, ie., Gazzaniga & Gedson, have had to be left out of the named squad today?
Clearly were over our quota so further balancing is necessary?
That’s the tactic Arsenal used. They have to get rid of 2 foreign players now. It will be interesting to see if this is really a problem or not, but in all likelihood, Mustafi and Sokratis will be leaving at the end of the season for free.
I’m not sure Mou was ever that keen on him tbh. It’s a massive risk bringing a CB from the Chinese league to the Prem solely based on the fact that he dominated the box in a crappy league. I’m sure he was head and shoulders above everyone else in China anyway!
Kim. Don’t be disheartened (not for long anyway) keep working hard and we’ll come back for ya. All is not lost.
This is crazy if that is the reason. The homegrown player rule only impacts registrations. So you simply dont register one of the foreign players if things go badly. Then you use the extended window and loan foyth to a championship side.
