Kim Min-jae Deal Close|Fee of €17M rumoured, decision by the 25th

By The Boy -

Superb news IF talks for Kim Min-jae are advanced as South Korean outlet Naver Sports suggest, and they are suggesting that a fee has already been agreed of £17million/€23million.

“As for Kim Min-jae’s transfer, negotiations are underway between Beijing Guoan and the Tottenham club. Both teams are positive about the transfer.” While the transfer fee was suggested, Beijing proposed a higher level of 17 million euros (about 23 billion won), and the two sides are in tune.”

This is, on the face of things, a solid signing for Spurs. Min-jae Kim looks a suitable fit for the Premier League. The “defensive colossus” and “giant” descriptions that have been doing the rounds are somewhat hyperbolic, Kim is 6’3″ (1.91 m) and not to be confused the Peter Crouch’s Asian cousin.

Naver Sports say that a decision won’t be a long time coming, as the Chinese League starts up again on the 25th of July, which places a neat boundary on proceedings. Aged 23-years, Kim Min-jae looks to be an exciting prospect.

The price tag here could be deceptively low for what Tottenham are actually getting. It is highly likely this deal is designed to finally replace Jan Vertonghen.

The last 6 results points wise have been ok ,some horrible matches to watch though, hopefully that will improve. Maureen will be here next season so see what players we can get and how it works out. Tough ask to get top 4 I would say already.
RB,striker and DM for me.

I doubt we will get enough for top both! Lucky if we get our money back.

True, but the money from his sale would allow us to buy a top DM and RB, with some left over for a back up striker too. Discount Danny will use the pandemic as an excuse to avoid spending money otherwise.

Apparently if the season had started when Jose took over as manager we’d currently be sitting 4th, an interesting stat that means we should appreciate more what he has achieved.

Tanguy won’t be finished at Spurs, if Jose goes. Winks seems to have gone backwards since that long injury lay off. He said that he’s been playing with pain but you just have to get on with it.

Yep, I think a lot will depend on how early Levy gets business done.

I’m not sure Winks actually is a good player. He’s a journeyman at best who wouldn’t look out of place at Watford or West Ham. He’s a sideways and backwards merchant good for a few interceptions, but in a midfield 2 you need Sissoko to win the ball and someone who works, but is a bit more creative to actually do something with it. Was hoping that might have been NDom.

Problem is Ndombele is not a defensive midfield player, he is a box to box player, with a perference to go forward.

I agree, a holding midfielder, striker and right back are our problem positions. We need them sorted first.

I wonder if we’re going after this guy because we think he’s such a bargain. The Chinese league is far worse than the French league and we’ve bought plenty of crap from there before. I would’t be confident he’s going to be amazing.

We can hope that we’re going after him because we know the other positions will be filled anyway – if so we may have some cash lying around that we’re keeping very quiet about. It could be possible we’ll get Hoijberg and Castagne but Striker I have no idea.

Defensive midfield player, a right back and a better pacey option than Moura.

Oh, and an attack minded manager too! 😂

You could be right but I have a feeling Kane will give Mourinho a full season and see what happens. It will be interesting to see if City do come in with a mega offer for Kane what Levy does. Selling seats is no longer an option for him so he may decide to do it while fans can’t complain. Kane turns 27 in a week and will be losing value every year from now on. I’m sure Levy will look to cash in at some point, but when exactly I’m not sure.

Well I suppose it all hinges on N’dembele’s future doesn’t it? I feel that Kane is becoming more and more injury prone, not helped by being overplayed all the time. If we’re going to play 4-4-2 quite a lot another striker is a must. Aurier needs replacing too due to his never ending errors. For me those two problems if not remedied will cost us points.

I would pick a DMF over all other positions right now- I am wondering if the plan is buy this guys so Dier is a DMF and nver a CB? Then right back and Striker (although striker you could argue we have options, but no other natural no9).

Levy won’t compete with anyone for a player, in fact even when he’s the only one buying he still tries to get a discount – he has an annoying habit of messing up transfers and upsetting the other side. Classic example being when we had Grealish for £6m and he reduced his offer to £4m!!! What an idiot that man can be. Also he had Moussa Dembele from Fulham for £6m and yet pulled out. That player went onto to become a great striker and would have solved our striking back up problems and perhaps won us trophies. I don’t understand how Levy can be so insane sometimes, he seems to lack vision and it’s all just about saving pennies.

We need to prioritise RB and striker. Another CB is just more competition for places. Hope this Kim doesn’t turn into a Korean Fazio! Winks seems to slow down our tempo and I’d like to see him get good competition to improve his game, I fear he ahs actually peaked.

Winks is a good player, he is jsut not suired to this team. Aurier, Sissoko, need to go. Rose needs to go, but really, our squad is less those that need to go, and more those that need to come in. Problem is, we are a team of squad players, almost all good enough to be cover players, but none should be starters for a team that wants to challenge

We need to prioritise RB and striker, I don’t see us being desperate for another CB right now, but I suppose competition for places is always a good thing and Jan might be off too. Lets hope this big Korean lump doesn’t turn into another Fazio.

Honestly, I an see City taking him – they need to replace Aguero, Kane (apparently) would prefer to stay in England, and wants to beat Shearer record. They have the money, and one of the few top clubs happy to do business with Levy. I think our summer will decide if Kane stays. He will see what area’s need reinforcement, and if he feels Levy cheaped out, then Kane may push for an August move.

I wouldn’t anticipate Kane being sold. Who would fork out the money to convince Levy to do business? Not many clubs have cash at the moment. Big transfers will be very thin on the ground. Perhaps City but are they going to go crazy right after their UEFA court case?

I am waiting for the “Outs” as much as the “Ins”
Apart from Harry/Son/Toby I don’t care who goes especially if it includes Winks & Aurier.
(probably include Hugo as since Lockdown he has been v good)

It’s clearly Kane. We miss out on champions League, and go on a spending spree, no one can understand why, then our best player goes. All we need is to buy 7 punts and it’s all just a little bit of history repeating.

City on the hunt for aguero replacement… Just saying.

As we seen with foyth when we signed him, you can bid all you want. In the end it’s what the player wants that counts.

Everton have bid £18 million for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. This is probably an opening gambit and they will come back with a higher bid if anyone else comes in for him. Now we have what Levy hates, competition for a player. Everton have deep pockets and they badly need decent midfielders, so over to Levy.
