Key figure in Newcastle’s Saudi takeover targets Tottenham for next investment project

Former Newcastle director Amanda Staveley is showing interest in Tottenham.

That is according a latest report from Bloomberg, which says that the British business executive is exploring her next football investment project, with Spurs among clubs that has emerged as a potential target alongside French side AS Monaco.

She was a major player in Saudi PIF’s takeover of Newcastle back in 2021, and later joined their board of directors.

Staveley is known for her strong connections in the Middle East with giant investors who have recently shown a lot of interest investing in English football.

Earlier this month, she and her husband sold their remaining 6% share in Newcastle, down from the initial 10%, and announced their departure from Newcastle.

Her interest in Tottenham comes at a time when the club is on a growing trajectory, with Levy doing an incredible job behind the scenes to make it financially strong and an attractive project for investors.

The club has been engaged in talks with several investors recently regarding a potential takeover. Last month it was reported that Spurs are in talks with MSP Sports Capital, a US based group interested in buying 40% stake in the club.

As Staveley considers her options, her interest in Tottenham underscores the club’s increasing appeal to high-profile investors, aligning with its ambitions to strengthen its status and ensure a prosperous future in European football.
