After a dreadful first half, Spurs and Newcastle both grew into the game, and so eventually came goals that were more representative of open play than perhaps Heung Son-Min’s first was.
It was Erik Lamela that did all the hard work and proved for the umpteenth time that square balls get you nowhere in life. A remarkable dribbling run which saw the Argentine hold onto the ball despite numerous challenges.
Harry Kane’s finish was instinctive and brave in equal measure.
Quarters instead of halves, very NFL.
They appear to be, v e r y s l o w l y warming to the task. Dare I say onwards & upwards. And is it just me, or does the ‘drinks break’ during matches in not particularly hot weather smack of an insidious creep toward a sort of 2 extra ad breaks opportunity?
