Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of managers since the departure of Antonio Conte.
They are yet to bring in a quality replacement for the manager and Julian Nagelsmann was reportedly one of the names on the shortlist.
However, the former Bayern Munich manager is unlikely to join Tottenham at the end of the season and journalist Mark Ogden has now revealed that Feyenoord manager Arne Slot could be a possible appointment.
“Where will Tottenham be looking next with Nagelsmann not an option?
“The name I keep hearing is Arne Slot from Feyenoord, he’s had a great year or two at Feyenoord, but he’s only been a coach for four years, so he’s inexperienced. With Nagelsmann I thought it was never going to be a fit for Tottenham. He’s just left the biggest club in Germany, so why would he risk his reputation on a club like Tottenham where managers get churned out every season. It’s not a club that appeals to top managers. I think someone like Arne Slot would be a good appointment in the sense he’s an up-and-coming coach,” Ogden said on the Sky Sports Backpages podcast.
Slot has done an impressive job at the Dutch outfit and Feyenoord are on course to win the Eredivisie this season.
The 44-year-old’s attacking football has attracted a lot of praise and it remains to be seen whether Spurs are prepared to bring him in at the end of the season.
Former midfielder Ryan Mason is currently the caretaker manager at the north London club.
Tottenham have had a disappointing campaign so far and they are set to miss out on Champions League football.
Daniel Levy will have to bring in a manager who can get them back into the top four immediately and it remains to be seen whether Slot can make an immediate impact at the Premier League club.
Tottenham have a number of quality attackers are their disposal and appointing a manager with an attacking philosophy could be ideal for them. The opportunity to manage Tottenham will be an exciting option for Slot and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
