Tottenham are interested in the services of Aston Villa midfield sensation Jacob Ramsey.
After weeks of hard work, Tottenham are closing in on the signature of Dominic Solanke. While bringing in a new striker was their priority throughout the summer, the North London club are still in the market to reinforce their midfielder.
Journalist Michael Bridge believes Spurs are on the lookout for a young energetic midfielder and they are interested in Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey.
While talking on Sky Sports News, Bridge said via TBR: “I still think they are in the market for an energetic midfielder. They like Jacob Ramsey at Villa, but he scored in a friendly yesterday, and I think Villa are very keen to keep him.”
Ange Postecoglou’s team might have parted ways with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg but the North London club have added Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to their squad this summer. With Yves Bissouma, Pape Sarr, Oliver Skipp, Gray, Bergvall and even Giovani Lo Celso in their squad, Tottenham do seem to have enough quality in the centre of the park.
But, the Australian manager is not satisfied with the options at his disposal. He wants to have another attacking-minded midfielder in his squad and Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey is someone who is quite highly rated by people at the North London club.
While the attacking midfielder could be a great addition to their squad as he can feature in a variety of positions and he is only 23, Unai Emery’s team are unlikely to sanction his departure. With three years still left on his deal, Villa are well in control of the situation. Despite their interest, Spurs won’t find it easy to prise someone like Ramsey away from Villa as they have Champions League football to offer.
