Journalist claims Kane would back Spurs move for 28-yr-old PL star

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse recently.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has now revealed to GiveMeSport that the Londoners would have the approval from Harry Kane if they wanted to sign the 28-year-old midfielder at the end of the season.

He said: “I’m sure if they asked for Kane’s input into a potential move for Ward-Prowse it would only get positives.

“He’s a top player, Ward-Prowse. He’s proven in the Premier League, England international, and scores so many goals and provides so many goals as well for Southampton.

“I think he’d be a great fit for Tottenham if they did move for him.”

Southampton are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table and they are one of the favourites to go down to the Championship. Players like Ward-Prowse deserve to stay in the Premier League and it wouldn’t be surprising if the Southampton captain decided to leave the club in the event of relegation.

Spurs need to add more creativity to their side and Ward-Prowse could prove to be a quality acquisition.

The 28-year-old is well-settled in the Premier League and he has proven his quality in the top flight over the years. He will add creativity and goals from the middle of the park.

Furthermore, Ward-Prowse is exceptional with his set pieces and has scored 17 goals in the Premier League from direct free kicks. David Beckham has the most number of free-kick goals in the Premier League for now with 18.

Kane will feel that the arrival of Ward-Prowse will help Tottenham create more chances and the 29-year-old England international will fancy getting on the end of those chances and scoring more goals.
