Journalist ‘can’t see’ 23-year-old playing for Tottenham next season

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.

The 23-year-old winger has dropped down the pecking order at the North London club and he’s not a regular starter for them.

The Spaniard has started just twice in the Premier League this season and he needs to play more often in order to fulfil his tremendous potential.

He was highly rated around Europe when he joined Tottenham from Sevilla but the transfer has clearly not worked out. He has struggled to adapt to English football and he has failed to hold down a regular starting spot at the North London club under multiple managers.

Journalist Dean Jones has now revealed on Give Me Sport that he cannot see the player staying at Tottenham on this season. He believes that the departure of the 23-year-old winger will allow Tottenham to bring in exciting players in the summer.

“Bryan Gil has got a lot to prove if he is going to have a future beyond this season at Tottenham. I, personally, can’t see it for him. He is the one to really look at in terms of the impact he will have at Tottenham because I think Bryan Gil’s departure is needed to make way for another exciting attacker to come in.”

A permanent exit might be ideal for all parties. The winger will be able to get this career back contract with regular football at another club and Spurs will be able to invest the proceeds on someone who can be more useful.

There is no doubt that Gil is a quality player with a big future ahead of him. If he can join the right team at the end of the season, he might be able to fulfil his potential in the coming seasons.
