To Prepare Is To Recover.
I have to say that I like this. It has an eternal, quite mindless quality to it. like a Hamster on a wheel. Forever spinning, getting nowhere, other than completing more spins. Then finally, the little fella’s mind goes, and he flies from the wheel, and so begins the recovery. To Prepare Is To Recover, is remarkably perfect for us.
8 games in 18 days lie ahead of the Special One, and he looks exhausted before it truly begins.
José repeats that he doesn’t want to be knocked out of the League Cup or the Europa.
I like José.

Well they did that, eventually. Jury still out on Jose for me, if things improve and there’s consistency then great. The football isn’t for the purists but it’s all about winning right?
Bake will help dig him out of a few holes, at least we have him. “Your Spurs, and you know you are!!!”
Based on the last 2 games we’re highly likely to be out of at least one, possibly 2 cups by this time next week.
Nothing short of giving So’ton a good hiding will convince me otherwise!
😂
Thinking about it, he will make or break our season. He needs to stay fit and Jose quite frankly needs to manage the team so they put in very few displays like the one against Everton for us to matter this term.
He’s shifting an awful lot of blame into the players, as Teddy has said, if the manager isn’t making the right calls he needs to admit it, even to himself. Jose doesn’t seem one that does an awful lot of admission of anything to the outside world. Hopefully and secretly he can admit where he’s wrong.
Agreed. This middle of October nonsense is going to be too late for us, given what I’ve witnessed in the first couple of games plus pre-season.
But if reports are correct that he’s nursing an ongoing knee injury, maybe it makes sense to keep him out of action until it’s resolved properly, given Gareth’s record in that respect.
We’re in a situation that, if we throw him in to early, he could pick up an injury that could put him out for months, but if we leave it too long, too many points may be dropped in early season for him to rescue our top four hopes in time.
I hope it’s not a signing we live to regret.
Bale needs to be ready in days
It’s all well and good saying that you don’t want to be knocked out of anything, but the reality is that generally something gives if you’re in four competitions.
The current schedule is madness of course and let’s hope we come through it all still in all comps but down the line there will be some kind of payback.
Personally I feel it’s imperative that we qualify for the Champions League next season (I suggest Danny Boy feels the same, think of all that money eh!?) and although we are doing some welcome transfer business, the squad will not be able to cope with getting top four and winning two other cups (as an example).
I might be wrong and I’ll be happy to be, I’m just basing it on what we see every season, not just with us but all teams. We currently have zero points on the board in the Premiership after one home game.
This isn’t going to be a doddle…
