Jose Mourinho gives an honest appraisal of Man City – they will not like it

By Bruce Grove -

Jose Mourinho is one of the main characters of Tottenham’s behind the scene docuseries on Amazon’s All or Nothing.

The series was released last Monday with three initial episodes with the rest of the series being shown on a weekly basis. One of the upcoming episodes profiles Tottenham’s home game against Manchester City.

During half time in that game, which was goalless after Ilkay Gundogan had his penalty saved by Hugo Lloris, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho had a lot to say about City and how they conduct themselves.

Mourinho pointed out to his players how much of a “bad guys” team City is and he used the example of Pep Guardiola’s players pressuring the referee for another penalty after Gundogan missed the first one.

Mourinho also used some colourful language to describe City’s actions and recalling the match I have to say that it was an honest appraisal of Guardiola and his team.

The Portuguese ended his talk by encouraging his players to also play dirty as well as intimating that they try to get City’s players on yellow cards, sent off.

“When you save the penalty, they try to put huge pressure on for another penalty to be given, Mourinho told his players in the dressing room as quoted by Sun Sports:

“This is the difference between a team of c***s and a team of good guys.

“But the story of football is the teams of good guys, they never win. So f****** hell, be a c***!”

He continued: “And the way the game is going, they know Toby has a yellow card.

“I promise you they know. I promise you. And I have to say Kyle Walker has a yellow card, Zinchenko has a yellow card, Sterling has a yellow card.

“So be a c***, don’t be a good guy.”

Mourinho then changed tack completely as he calmly asked his stars: “Now, how do we score a goal?”
