Joe Hart To Spurs Makes A Tonne Of Sense

By The Boy -

You can tell that Mourinho is at Spurs, the inside information is flowing gently once again, and transfer expectations are reaching such a point of expectation, that fans are suddenly becoming home grown quotient savvy.

Gary Jacob for The Times believes that Joe Hart (late of Burnley Football Club) could well be on his way to Tottenham.

The former Manchester City keeper is now 33, which in goalkeeper years makes him barely middle-aged. Hugo Lloris (himself now 33) will need replacing in due course and I would rather have another old hand on the bench and the training pitches with Paulo Gazzaniga, opposed to another youngster trying to catch some meaningful game time.

In the main, goalkeepers need to be confident that the job is theirs, and that everyone is behind them. It’s a role in the team that doesn’t benefit from the threat of being usurped.

Joe Hart knows the game inside out, he’s travelled, and he knows how to win, and he’d be cheap to feed.

Yep. We sign anyone and some of our fans wet their pants. Mainly because we are the ONLY CLUB IN ANY TOP DIVISION IN THE WORLD that didn’t sign anyone for over a year.

There’s a sense of relief that a transfer has actually happened! 😂

I’m sure Joe can handle himself with those wannabe’s, he can show his medals and england caps, and kick their asses.

Does Skipp going to Norwich on loan augur a pending deal for Aarons?

Max% happier. Jose’s laid back man. He don’t take himself too seriously. Can laugh at himself Jose can. Poch had more of the kool thing going on.

I get the impression that the players are a lot happier overall and are buying into Maureen’s philosophy. That should start to translate into results on the field this coming season.

H nailed it in his last sentence, Joe Hart will be cheap to feed, nice to have that experience in the team, an England International, Premier League winner. What is in it for Joe though, must be a lonely gig third choice keeper, you rarely even make the bench.

Absolutely agree and I wrote about Butland some days ago. Still only 27.

Wouldn’t Butland be a better choice?I know he would cost 8M but is 5 years younger and very experienced too.
On a silly note what about Henderson as no.1 as Ramsdale has gone to Sheff.Utd?Sell Hugo it’s probably time.

Nope, it’s a bit like the ship has sunk and we’re bobbing in the water waiting to be rescued – its just that we’ve been bobbing for nearly 20 years.

It makes a lot of sense. He’s bigger, younger, more commanding and better than Vorm and he’s English, so it would enable us to find room on the roster for another foreign player. An eminently sensible move. Therefore expect Levy to fuck it up, haggling over his wages, like he did with Llorente.

I can’t see anything wrong (apart from Alfie gets further down the line) with Joe h coming. Could actually be good for Alfie. He should go out on loan though I reckon. He’s got the technical side of keeping practicality sussed. Regular competitive games is what’s needed for him.

It’s important but is it an interesting subject? I’m sure a club of our size can sort this situation without too much bother. The scenario you’ve just described generally happens once a decade, if that.

Brad Friedel was a very good backup and mentor, maybe Hart would be that?

Is there anything happening that takes this club into the next level or are we treading water for another 20 years? Yawn…

First choice keeper on a ban. 2nd choice keeper breaks his arm 5 mins into a game. How important is the 3rd choice keeper then?

Hey, but 10 years ago he was good!

3rd choice goalies is such a scintillating discussion, I don’t know where to start.

Yep. Darren Edwards wasn’t happy with some of them lot too. He wanted Marcus out of there. He’ll probably be the reason Marcus won’t come back

That alone says an awful lot about how bad things became under Poch.

Young Alfie was bullied (in a way) by pochs GK coach Toni domingez.(his mum riff hates him) He’s so much happier now he’s gone and getting on well with the new guy. He wouldn’t mind going out on loan.

Was local lad Alfie Whiteman not getting Vorms spot as third choice or is he possibly going out on loan if Hart arrived.
