Player admits he is looking forward to working with Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham

Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga has admitted that he is looking forward to working with Ange Postecoglou.

The 25-year-old academy graduate’s journey at Tottenham has seen its share of ups and downs, with Tanganga struggling to establish himself as a regular for the Premier League outfit.

He was eventually loaned out to Bundesliga side Augsburg last September, however, the move turned out to be a disaster with the player failing to make a single appearance for the German side.

Tottenham terminated Tanganga’s loan deal and recalled him in January and subsequently loaned him out to Championship side Millwall, where he impressed as one of the standout defenders for the Lions.

Now, as Tanganga prepares to return to the Premier League side, his future at the club remains uncertain.

While he may be given an opportunity to showcase his abilities during pre-season, speculation suggests that he could be among the players set to be offloaded in the upcoming transfer window.

Tanganga meanwhile is looking forward to his return to Tottenham and has admitted that he is keen to work with the Australian manager.

In an interview with Football London, Tanganga revealed his positive impressions of the Australian manager’s approach and philosophy.

Speaking to Football London, he said:

“Yes, I am looking forward to working with Ange. Before I came out on loan to Germany, I was welcomed by him in pre-season and obviously I saw his ideas and did like them.

“Everyone can see that he’s very attack-minded, likes to keep the ball, and he’s doing well, so I’m looking forward to seeing his ideas and being a part of it.”

TBH Says:

Tanganga’s eagerness to embrace Postecoglou’s vision reflects a willingness to adapt and contribute to Tottenham’s ambitions under their new manager.

However, Tottenham have already signed Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin in the last two transfer windows and are expected to sign another centre-back this summer.

This reduces the chances of Spurs keeping Tanganga. Whether he is loaned out or sold on a permanent deal remains to be seen.
