Tottenham are reportedly ready to part ways with last summer’s signing, Manor Solomon.
The former Fulham man who joined Spurs from Shakhtar Donetsk on a free transfer has been plagued by injury setbacks, keeping him off the pitch for most of the season.
According to club insider Paul O’Keefe, speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast, Solomon is expected to be allowed to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been sidelined since October due to a meniscus injury in his right knee, which required surgery and a lengthy recovery period.
Despite initial hopes for a swift return, he underwent another minor knee surgery, further delaying his comeback.
Solomon has only managed to accumulate only 201 minutes across five Premier League appearances last season, during which he provided two assists.
His transfer was controversial, with Shakhtar expressing dissatisfaction and threatening legal action following his move, which was facilitated by a FIFA ruling allowing foreign players in Russia and Ukraine to suspend their contracts amid the ongoing conflict.
O’Keefe revealed that Tottenham might consider letting Solomon leave, given the continued uncertainty about his fitness and availability.
He noted that the entire transfer felt bizarre from the start, marred by controversy and Solomon’s worsening injury, stating (1:18:00 – onwards):
“It’s so weird that situation isn’t, it’s the whole even the whole transfer was weird like you got Shakatar saying afterwards oh you’ve stitched us up we want this we want that and we’re going to take you to this court.”
“It’s just very very bizarre the guy [Solomon] came in I cannot remember who he even played against.”
“The only word I got was that they would consider letting him [Solomon] leave.”
