“It’s disappointing” – Eric Dier admits disappointment after the recent development at Bayern Munich

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Eric Dier has expressed his disappointment over the latest developments at Bayern Munich, where he is currently plying his trade for the remainder of the season.

Dier, who spent nearly a decade at Spurs and made 364 appearances for the club, found himself on the fringes under manager Ange Postecoglou, prompting a loan move to the Bundesliga giants in January.

However, recent reports suggest that Bayern are unlikely to pursue a permanent deal for the 30-year-old defender once his loan spell concludes.

Concerns have been raised within the club hierarchy regarding Dier’s performance and his perceived lack of pace.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel, the manager who signed him, is also set to leave the club at the end of the season after a disappoint stint which could potentially lead to Bayern finishing the season without a trophy for the first time in years.

Expressing his disappointment, Dier spoke to Sky Germany, acknowledging his good relationship with Tuchel and lamenting his impending departure.

He said:

“It’s disappointing. He brought me here. We have a good relationship. Still, it’s a shame because he’s a very good coach.”

With Dier’s contract at Tottenham set to expire in the summer, his future remains uncertain.

Whether Bayern opts to sign him on a permanent basis or if Dier explores other options as a free agent after his loan deal concludes remains to be seen.
