‘It’s 99% guaranteed’: Romano claims Conte signing won’t play for Tottenham anymore

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur winger Ivan Perisic is currently sidelined with a long-term injury and he is unlikely to play for the North London club in future.

His contract expires in the summer and Tottenham are unlikely to renew his deal. Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the player is not going to play for Tottenham anymore and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

The 129-cap Croatian international joined Tottenham on a free transfer from Inter Milan when Antonio Conte was the manager of the club.

Perisic was an important player for Conte during his time at the club and he impressed during his debut season. The Croatian played as a winger as well as a wing-back. His versatility proved quite valuable for Tottenham that season but things have not gone according to plan this season.

He could have been a useful option for Ange Postecoglou this season, but his injury has made sure that he will not be able to contribute for Tottenham anymore.

The Croatian international has the experience and the quality to improve most teams and he will want to compete at a high level next season. He has been linked with the return to his homeland and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Hajduk Split are reportedly hoping to sign the player this month and they are pushing to get a deal done.

“My answer is no, I don’t think Ivan Perisic is going to play for Tottenham anymore in his career. Because of the injury, of course, but also because Hajduk Split are still dreaming of Ivan Perisic as January signing. So, they are going to push this week, next week, to make the deal happen. Hajduk want Ivan Perisic, so there is still a chance for Perisic to leave Tottenham in the January transfer window. But, in any case, it’s 99% guaranteed that Ivan Perisic is not going to play for Tottenham anymore.”
