48-hrs ago we brought you the news that José Mourinho was interested in former Arsenal and now Chelsea frontman, Olivier Giroud. This morning Calciomercato believe that Tottenham will be joined by West Ham who are also interested in the services of the 34-year-old. The understanding is that Jose Mourinho is comfortable that Giroud would be a suitable target man in his setup, and Chelsea might ask as little as £7million for the former Arsenal forward – whose preference is to remain in London if he does move clubs.
When we initially published the suggestion, it was met with a broad harrumph of disinterest. I take a view that Vicinuis’ loan could be going a hell of a lot better and that Giroud is enjoying a run of form in his twilight seasons. Mourinho has two players for every position (revolutionary stuff, I know), and a second striker for a top side competing in all competitions is not a complicated puzzle.
Shouldn’t we be getting another striker anyway. We are awash with attacking minded players behind the striker surely swapping one out would balance the squad even more.
Cant see that lot helping us to finish above `em,so far fetched to say the least.
hmm seem to recal reading similar with the other Vinnie from Holland…
I think he’d see plenty of action in Europe and the cups.
Vinicius is struggling a little but it can’t be easy not speaking English & adapting to everything, etc & without a run of regular matches probably doesn’t help either. But once he gets his 1st goal, a weight will be lifted & I’m sure he’ll do well.
Great news, that West Ham ⚒ are interested they believe they could get him for around £4.4m as reported by Hammer news yesterday and could offer him more games than he will ever get at Spurs, let’s hope this is the decisive factor and they seal the deal.Harry Kane has started all 9/9 PL games and Vinicius has only had 4 EL games with 2 goals & 3 assists.
I totally get why Tottenham would want him but I simply don’t understand why he would join a club where he is less likely to play than at his current club.
I agree that Giroud could do a job for us but the problem remains that there is a rumour that Abramabitch won’t do business with Levy, so that could remain an insurmountable problem if true. I’m sure Giroud would love to join Spurs but would he be given the green light by them?
Vinnie doesn’t seem to be particularly impressing Mou and was really a typical Levy deal. We probably need better if we’re serious about trophies.
