Italian club actively pursuing loan deal for Spurs attacker

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham attacker Bryan Gil is attracting interest from several clubs including Serie A side Fiorentina.

That is according to Italian news outlet Corriere Fiorentino (via Last Word On Spurs), who report that the Italian side are making efforts to convince Spurs to let go of the talented Spaniard.

The report claims that the Italian club, led by CEO Joe Barone and sporting director Daniele Prade, are actively pursuing a loan deal for the talented 22-year-old Spaniard.

Tottenham secured Bryan Gil’s services in 2021 from Sevilla on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee amounting to €25 million. Despite his promising talent, Gil’s playing time at Spurs has been limited. After joining, he had loan spells at Valencia and Sevilla in the past two seasons.

The beginning of Gil’s third season with Spurs was hampered by a pubic bone inflammation injury, sidelining him for a couple of months and causing him to miss eight games. Since recovering, he has struggled to secure a regular spot in the line-up under manager Ange Postecoglou.

With the recent arrival of Timo Werner, competition for playing time has intensified for Bryan Gil.

While Fiorentina are reportedly interested in securing him on loan, Tottenham are not interested in another loan move and are instead seeking a permanent solution, exploring options such as a direct transfer or a loan arrangement with an obligation to buy.
