Tottenham loanee Tanguy Ndombele has been heavily criticised after Galatasaray’s disappointing 2-2 draw in the Champions League opener against Copenhagen.
The Turkish giants had their easiest game of the group against the Danish side but ended up having to come back from 2 goals down to draw 2-2.
A number of Galatasaray players came under fire for their performances, in particular the Spurs flop.
Batuhan Karadeniz of ‘SkySpor’ brutally criticised the players claiming that they did not seem ready for the game.
He slammed the coach for fielding the wrong team and did not agree with some of his selections.
And while he went on a big rant about various players, he slammed Ndombele’s physical fitness. He said (via Superhaber):
“Ndombele was more ready when he entered the last match, he was in a worse situation than I saw in yesterday’s match.”
“What did you do, brother? Did you eat Istanbul? You will hire a dietician and get a scale to check your condition. Is this how you play football?”
Ndombele completed a late loan move to the Turkish club along with Davinson Sanchez who joined on a permanent deal.
He has only made 3 appearances since joining Galatasaray coming on as a substitute in each of them.
While the club has an option to buy him on a permanent deal, it is very unlikely that they will trigger that clause.
Ndombele was signed by Tottenham from Lyon in 2019 for a club-record fee of £63m, but has failed to live up to expectations since his arrival. He failed to impressed any of the managers who have managed the club in recent years.
