Is Josè Mourinho Gearing Up To Nudge Out Another Tottenham Nice Boy?

By The Boy -

Paulo Gazzaniga was a classic Spurs fringe player up until recently. Plodding along, not getting much wrong, patiently do what fringe players tend to do. Unlike Mauricio Pochettino who appeared to spend his transfer windows occasionally scoring lines through players on his wish list, the Special One is a far more proactive beast, currently knee deep in the business of juggling the wage bill and looking for ways to manipulate what he has in front of him, in order to create money and space.

Mike McGrath for The Telegraph believes that Scott Parker is poised to lure Paulo to Fulham. Since the arrival of Joe Hart, the chances of Gazza getting any meaningful game time at Tottenham has drastically shrunk.

The opportunity to free up another £20,000 a week looks like it will prove irresistible for the Portuguese, who is determined to lick Spurs into shape.

What still puzzles me, is why Pochettino didn’t roll his sleeves up and embark upon on Mourinho’s insightful game of musical chairs…

That bloke did ok. Bad keepers are the emotional ones like Pickford and Hart, they get far too pumped up with iffy positioning and decision making
Calm and cool like the great Pat Jennings ps how do you think he would of got on with the modern kicking game?

Er, from last season. It wasn’t a bad shirt even if we still have to continue to suffer red on the home kit for the first time in our history because of Levy not giving a monkeys about it.

The new home short is a cheap lash up, Grey, yellow red and white. The designer must have been drinking…

Poch’s achilles heel is his judgement in the transfer market. His record at every club is abysmal. The reason we declined is that he couldn’t replace the players we sold.

For sure, but I can’t see him coming in to be third choice, no matter how keen he is to find a club.

I’d be sad to see Gazza go, as to be honest, if we didn’t have Lloris I’d be happy for him to be our no 1. Personally, while I think he’s obviously not up to Lloris’ standards (few are), he good enough to start in the prem, and he is now getting to the point that he needs to be playing regularly. So would be sad to see him go, but it’s understandable if he wants to be getting games.

I guess he wanted to sound positive and ambitious rather than like someone being brought in on a free to help out with the HG quota.

I think Steven can play at right back but is a midfielder? Bit like that Arsenal guy with the double-barreled name only better.

When I watched the first Joe Hart interview, he talked as if he was going to be involved in games like the EL, and compete for the number one jersey, that’s the impression I got.

Well as I said when Joe arrived, hope it doesn’t impact on Gazza’s world. Well there you go, I have fond memories of Gazza saving penalties to keep Watford out.

You told me it wouldn’t happen HH, oh well.

The point is neither are good enough to be first choice now or in the future so may as well sell the one which has market value and frees up another HG spot

he is already 28, will be in his 30s before Hugo retires. Gazzanigga will never be first choice at Tottenham

Alderweirld,Dier and Tanganga have all signed new contracts this year so they probably have been told they are part of Jose’s plans this season.Sanchez a £42m buy won’t be sold unless Levy got the fee back,so the only CB up for sale would be Foyth.Cant see us signing more than one and only if Foyth leaves.

Harry’s take on this is valid, imo. We are seeing how a grand master works under the conditions of Levy as opposed to Poch who seemingly didnt have the skill set.

I loved Poch. He genuinely improved us but hit a brick wall and didnt have the savvy to keep moving on up.

Jose’s seen the bigger picture, he’s magic you know.

Otto von Bismarck was asked by a member of his staff to take on a new adjutant. When asked why he should take him on, his aid de camp replied that the young man spoke seven languages. Bismarck replied, ” a useful asset for a head waiter”.

Gazzanigga is better than Hart.. The few times we have needed him he stepped up. Many were calling for him to start over Lloris.. He could do with playing frequently now though. Hopefully we just loan him to fulham. One for the future whereas Hart I’m not sure can be trusted at all.

Couldnt agree more, this is a duff buy. I have struggled to find a fan base say anything else (including City fans) he was considered their weakest link.

Just read a previous blog I missed that our very own Tangy Underbelly has got the Rona. Apparently no other players are in danger most likely due to the fact that he hasn’t been anywhere near training. And who said he was too slow to catch a cold?

Don’t trust Dier and sanshez together in defence we need a top left sided centre half. Would sell Dier plus he doesn’t count
as homegrown.

Dier and Toby are both finished deadbeats too, that’s why Jose’s given them both new contracts…
