Inter Milan defender discusses his future amid report about him open to joining Spurs

By Eddie Razo -

Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni is the number one target for Tottenham Hotspur to reinforce their backline ahead of a season where they’ll play UEFA Champions League football. Manager Antonio Conte reportedly wants to reunite with his former player, and it seems as though the feeling is mutual.

According to 90min, Bastoni has told Inter he wants to join Tottenham to link up with his former manager in north London. This report comes off the heels of the 23-year-old opening up about his future following Italy’s 2-1 win over Hungary in the UEFA Nations League.

Bastoni stated that he has two years remaining on his deal, and from his remarks, it doesn’t appear as though he’s keen on leaving the Serie A club this summer despite the rumors linking him to Spurs.

“I have two years of my contract with Inter, so I am relaxed. The club hasn’t told me anything; I am just waiting to go on vacation after this and then start pre-season with Inter,” Bastoni said, per The Spurs Express

It’s early, considering the summer transfer window isn’t even open yet, but it does seem as though Tottenham might have to look at other targets to strengthen their defense this summer.
