According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha on a free next summer.
The 30-year-old Premier League star’s contract will expire next summer and he has turned down all negotiations to extend his stay at Selhurst Park
The report claims that Spurs will be joining the ‘major battle for his signature’ which will involve a host of Premier League clubs.
He has previously been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea and it’s suggested that the player will prefer to move to another club in London only.
Spurs under Pochettino had twice made an attempt to sign the forward in the past but the club failed to ‘meet the asking price’ of their London rivals.
Arch rivals Arsenal are also rumored to be interested in signing the player with Mikel Arteta a huge admirer. He has previously praised him saying:
“I think he’s a terrific player and I think the impact he’s had in the Premier League in the last few years has been phenomenal.”
The 30-year-old has scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in 13 league appearances for Palace this season helping Palace climb to 11th in the table, only 3 points behind 6th-placed Liverpool with a game in hand.
Palace appears to have accepted that they will lose their star player for free in the summer and are not looking to sell him in January. Having spent almost his entire career in a Palace shirt, the club is expected to encourage the 30-year-old to seek a new opportunity ahead of next season.
