Manchester United have an “active interest” in signing Harry Kane in the summer according to the latest report from Football Insider.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with him in recent months as the uncertainty continues to loom around his future at the club.
The striker’s contract with Spurs ends in the summer of 2024 and there were no such concrete reports of the club initiating talks for a new contract.
However, according to a report from Football Insider on Friday, Tottenham have “opened talks” with the player with the talks still being at its early stages.
But the news of Spurs opening talks has led to an active interest from the Manchester club to pursue the England captain.
Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also reportedly interested in Kane. In fact, the Bundesliga club were quite vocal about their admiration for the striker, with CEO Oliver Kahn and manager Julian Nagelsmann expressing interest in replacing Lewandowski with him last summer.
The report also claims that Spurs have also “opened talks” with defender Eric Dier and are keen on finalising a deal with him so they can “turn their full focus” on Harry Kane.
Spurs will hope to hold on to their star striker who scored a record breaking goal against Manchester City making a club history by surpassing Jimmy Greaves’ record.
A lot will also depend on where Spurs finish in the table come end season and also their managerial situation with Conte’s future also very uncertain. The Italian’s contract ends in the summer and there are no indications yet that he will be extending with reports linking Mauricio Pochettino with a return to the North London club.
