Injury expert claims Tottenham star will need to undergo ‘a late fitness test’ to determine if he is fit to play

Tottenham Hotspur’s centre-forward Richarlison is expected to be fit for the club’s upcoming league fixture against Fulham over the weekend.

The Brazilian striker was in sensational form before suffering a knee injury in a 1-2 loss to Wolves last month.

Dr Rajpal Brar suggests that Richarlison’s knee issue was likely to be a Grade 1, which is not a significant setback.

The 26-year-old was seen in a group photo during Spurs’ recent training session ahead of their Premier League game on Saturday.

Speaking to Tottenham News, he said:

“This is very likely a Grade 1 knee injury based on him returning to training after only a few matches.

“I imagine he will be in contention if he’s training multiple times without issue.

“He did give a positive update at the start of the month that it wasn’t too serious and he will be expected to return soon.

“He’d need to pass a late fitness test if he is to play on the weekend and it looks like he’s in contention for it.“

Richarlison was experiencing a turnaround at Spurs, having scored 9 goals in his last 10 appearances in the Premier League. This was his best form since making the move from Everton in 2022.

Ange Postecoglou will undoubtedly welcome his return to bolster Tottenham’s attacking prowess as they aim to maintain their momentum in the Premier League.
