‘in the next weeks…’: Fabrizio Romano provides exciting update on ‘world class’ player

By Mehdi Gokal -

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Harry Kane’s situation at Spurs is now ‘completely different.

In recent weeks, there has been speculation about Kane’s future, with reports suggesting that Bayern Munich is ready to make a bid in January as well as reports linking him to Chelsea and Manchester United.

The England captain is now into the final two years of his contract with Tottenham with some reports suggesting the club are in no hurry to extend his contract.

But according to the latest update from Romano, the situation seems to be changing. Speaking to his YouTube channel, he said:

“First important point is about Tottenham because we remember that a bit more than one year ago, Harry Kane wanted to leave. But now the situation is completely different.

“Harry Kane is happy with Tottenham, he’s happy with Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici. The Italians have changed the feeling for the club. Of course, together with Daniel Levy but the work of Antonio Conte has been something special.

“Fabio Paratici, the new director, arrived last summer and did something really important to change the atmosphere around Tottenham and around Kane.

“So, at the moment Kane is happy at Tottenham. He’s not in a rush to leave the club as it was one-year ago. So the situation is completely different.”

The insider also provided an update on the contract talks between Kane and Spurs. He added:

“As of now, there is still no full agreement, no full breakthrough in the talks between Harry Kane and Tottenham to accept the contract.”

“This is not a dangerous situation, it’s simply a normal situation, they’re speaking, they’re discussing, they have a good relationship.

“But as of today, there is still no full agreement. Let’s see what happens in the next weeks and months because Tottenham want to extend the contract and they want to have Harry Kane as the face of the project for the future. But as of now, it’s still not the case of saying ‘okay, we have a full agreement on everything’.

“Work in progress. We know that extending the contracts of top players needs some time and is absolutely something normal. But Tottenham will be on it. This is the mission on the club’s side.”

Conte will be desperate to keep his star striker however, it is pretty likely at this point that the ‘world class‘ Kane and Conte’s future at the club are connected with the striker happy with his manager and what he’s building at Spurs.

But if Conte, who has also been subject to reports linking him to a return to Juventus, decides to leave then Kane may follow suit.
