By Rob S -

The world of sport was shaken on Sunday by news that Kobe Bryant had died – along with eight other victims – in a helicopter crash in California.

Bryant’s daughter Gianna was also killed in the tragic incident.

Forty-one-year-old Bryant was an icon in NBA, but the shockwaves from his untimely death reached far beyond the basketball community.

Multiple Spurs players added their tributes via Instagram.

Serge Aurier posted three pictures of Bryant along with the caption: “Legend Never Die”.

Erik Lamela shared an image of Bryant in an LA Lakers jersey, adding a broken heart emoji.

Japhet Tanganga, Kyle Walker-Peters and former midfielder Ryan Mason also uploaded photos of the former NBA MVP.

Walker-Peters wrote: “RIP king, forever in our hearts”. Meanwhile, Mason’s message read: “Life is so precious. RIP Legend”.

Tottenham’s official club account posted a picture of Bryant posing with Harry Kane.

A Spurs statement accompanied the image and read: “We are shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant.

“The world of sport has lost a true legend. We send our heartfelt condolences to the friends and families of all the victims at this terribly sad time.”
