“I’m worried…” Nuno Lets Slip After A Poor Draw In France [video]

By The Boy -

Nuno Espírito Santo has shown remarkable dexterity in his Tottenham press conferences. His abilities to obfuscate and be evasive whilst also being remarkably sincere, have been nothing shy of impressive. In the presser ahead of the Crystal Palace game, he even acted as if he had no real understanding of the first team injury situation.

After last night’s discomforting draw in France, the gaffer confessed that he was worried. With Chelsea on the horizon, I’d say he has every reason to be.

Who is that interviewing him ? Did he even watch the game ?

Nuno’s worried because he’s out of his depth. Simple.

Granted he’s just had two disappointing performances in a row, but his body language has changed from those earlier interviews that gave a sense of confidence and optimism in the face of a new challenge. He’s already starting to look drained.

This is Groundhog Day, every day with Levy’s Spurs. Nuno is down and out before he has started, Kane isn’t really interested and the rest, meh! We have an award winning stadium though.

You are right H he must have an MA (Master Avoider in telling it as it is) and he has every reason to be fearful about the visit of Chelsea at the weekend. Anything less than a 0-4 drubbing could be taken as lucky imho-and I hate to say it. You can almost hear the post match comments if you listen carefully.
“Not the result we were hoping for Nuno, what do you think of the boys’ performance?”
“The boys did well. Chelsea, they are the European champions, but I thought we controlled the game for the first 15 minutes. But then they got a lucky break with that first goal and started to assert themselves more as the game went on.”
“Did you think that was a pen and did it warrant a red card?”
“I didn’t see that. It is not for me to question the decision of the referee.”
“Do you think it changed the game because it was only 0-2 at that stage?”
“For sure it changed the dynamic.”
“Do you think there are lessons to be learned from this result?”
“We must work hard and go on.”
“Do you think the boys can kick on against Arsenal next week?”
“We will see.”
Fingers crossed this is just more light hearted fantasy.
