“I’m told” – Journalist claims Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelloti wants to sign another Tottenham player besides Kane

By Mehdi Gokal -

As the summer transfer window draws near, the speculation surrounding the future of Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur continues to dominate discussions.

With only one year left on his current contract and no signs of a contract extension, the possibility of Kane departing during the upcoming transfer window is becoming increasingly likely.

Manchester United have emerged as a strong contender for Kane’s signature, reportedly making him their top transfer target.

However, other top European clubs such as Bayern Munich and PSG have also been linked with the prolific striker.

The latest entrant in the race to sign Kane is Spanish giants Real Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti reportedly placing him at the top of his transfer wishlist.

But he is not the only Tottenham player Carlo Ancelloti wants. Journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon has revealed on YouTube that the Real Madrid manager also has a keen interest in Tottenham’s Brazilian striker, Richarlison.

Ancelotti previously worked with Richarlison during his time at Everton and values the player’s abilities. The advantages Ancelotti sees in Richarlison include his age and familiarity with the player’s performance during their time together at Everton as well as his value.

De Mon said:

“Ancelotti’s preferences in case Benzema leaves, well, I’m told they are Richarlison and Harry Kane.

“This is information, not my opinion, at least as far as Richarlison is concerned. In the case of Richarlison, one of the advantages he sees is that he is 26 years old and is a player he knows well because he was with him at Everton, where he performed quite well.

“He averaged I think 12-13 goals in the Premier League in the seasons he was at Everton. Not all of them were with Ancelotti on the bench logically and he is a player that he knows well, and I imagine he knows what he can give and therefore he feels comfortable.

“Another of the advantages that Ancelotti would see when it comes to being an option that the club could consider is that the price of Richarlison would be €40-45m, no more. This season he has been a regular substitute at Tottenham and is a player who would have a lower market value if he were to leave.

“We must remember that he was the starting striker for Brazil in the last World Cup but this season he has done has been very poor in terms of numbers. One goal in the Premier League and two goals in the Champions League. Extremely low figures.

“I think that would complicate his candidacy when it comes to deciding which striker Real Madrid will sign. I think it would complicate it a lot, but he is a player that Ancelotti likes a lot and if the club asks Ancelotti, he will surely find this name.”

Richarlison joined Spurs from Everton in a record £60m deal. But the Brazilian has struggled to live up to his price tag, having scored only one goal in the Premier League and three in 35 appearances in all competitions this season.

However, he has shown his quality previously at Everton as well as for the National team. He is a player Ancelotti knows very well from his time at the Merseyside club under whom he faired really well.

Considering Tottenham’s stance, it is highly unlikely that chairman Daniel Levy will permit the departure of both Kane and Richarlison this summer.

In fact, there have been ‘concerning’ suggestions by transfer insider Dean Jones that Richarlison could be considered as a replacement for Kane if the English striker does decide to leave the club.
