‘I’m happy he’s proven me right’: Popular pundit rates Tottenham star higher than Haaland

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min has been in impressive form this season.

The 31-year-old South Korean international had a difficult campaign last year but he seems to have recovered and he is back to his best once again. The experienced attacker has six goals in eight appearances across all competitions and popular pundit Janusz Michallik has now made a bold claim on ESPN regarding the South Korean international.

Michallik believes that Son is back to his best and he is currently better than the likes of Erling Haaland. He added that the 31-year-old was the best attacker in the Premier League the season before the last when he topped the goalscoring charts along with Mohamed Salah.

“At number three I put Heung-Min Son, I love what he’s done. He’s doing what I thought he would do after that season where he finished top of the scoring charts with Mo Salah. In my opinion, that year he was the best player in the Premier League. I knew he hadn’t lost it and I’m happy he’s proven me right here,” Michallik said.

Although Son is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league, to say that he is better than Haaland right now might be an over-exaggeration.

The 23-year-old Norwegian international has been on fire since he moved to the Premier League and he smashed a number of scoring records last season. He has been in flying form this season as well and there is a good chance that he manages to outscore Son by the end of the campaign.

That said, Tottenham fans will be delighted to see that the South Korean international is back in top form and he will look to guide them back into the Champions League and help them compete for trophies.
