“If he plays me” Tottenham striker suggests he could play in a completely different position for Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham captain Heung-min Son has claimed that he is willing to play as a defender for Ange Postecoglou if need be.

Son has stepped up his game since being named the captain of the team by the manager and has already scored 5 goals in 6 games including a hat-trick against Burnley and a brace against Arsenal.

Interestingly all his 5 goals have come as him starting as a number 9 instead on the left which is where he played in the starting few games.

But the versatile attacker stated after the Arsenal game that he would play anywhere for Ange even if it is as a fullback because the ‘gaffer has a plan’.

Speaking after the game, he said:

“The gaffer has a plan. If he plays me as a fullback, then I will do that for him. That’s how I feel, you know.

“If the manager chooses something different, then I will do what he asks for. Sometimes I will play as a winger and sometimes I will play as a striker.

“Every role is good for me. I am very happy to be part of this team and be out on the pitch. The gaffer has the best plan, so I am just trying to stick to it.”

Son has been praised for how he has matured his game after the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in the summer.

He has been of Spurs’ best players over the years and even though he struggled last season, he is back to his best now.

Tottenham are reportedly set to award him with a new long-term deal.
