“I think the board will” – Sky Sports reporter’s latest update welcomed by Tottenham fans

By Mehdi Gokal -

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has highlighted chairman Daniel Levy’s commitment to bolstering the squad by greenlighting signings in the upcoming window, aiming to support manager Ange Postecoglou.

Since his arrival in the summer, the Australian manager has overseen an impressive unbeaten streak of 10 games, clinching victory in 8 of those encounters.

However, this momentum was derailed by a string of injuries that further weakened an already thinly stretched squad.

To make things worse, Spurs face the absence of key players in January, with Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr, and Heung-min Son, all expected to miss 4-5 weeks due to international competitions, leaving critical gaps in midfield and attack.

Sheth underlined Levy’s awareness of Tottenham’s squad limitations and the imperative to allocate substantial resources for transfers in the upcoming transfer window.

Speaking on GiveMeSport, Sheth said:

“They, potentially, look like they could be the busiest, and I think the board will want to back Ange Postecoglou as well.

“They’ve got so many players who will be missing temporarily. That’s not necessarily a reason to go into the market because these players are going to come back, of course, but they may want to bulk up that squad.”

Tottenham supporters will likely welcome this news, recognizing the pressing need for reinforcements across various positions.

Failure to provide support to Postecoglou during this critical phase could disrupt the team’s remarkable early-season performance.

It is said that a new defender is on top. Of their list along with another midfielder.

They are also being linked with a left-sided attacker.
