I Think I Know The Best Action To Take With This Spurs’ Loanee

By The Boy -

Skipp served up a superb 96% successful passing accuracy this week as Norwich City continued to dominate their division; now tearing some 10-points ahead of Watford.

A pity this great pass went to someone who couldn’t appreciate it.

This interception went on to finish with a shot.

Obviously, beyond any seminal moments, showing off a defensive midfielder at his best on video is a tough gig, unless of course, you’re monitoring the likes of Tanguy Ndombele who is attack-minded even when playing as a DM.

The leap from Championship to Premier League is vast, the number of clubs that survive the promotion (i.e. stay up, isn’t a big percentage). Would it be a really clever idea to let Skipp stay at Norwich if they get promoted, and watch him adapt as a regular starter, opposed to try and shoehorn him into the Spurs first XI?

If Skipp can shine at the highest domestic level, then we will know that he is worth his starting berth.

That’s an interesting idea H.

Beyond pure impatience to see the lad in our team my only other concern would be this; teams struggle to come up from the Championship & not necessarily individual players.

Should Norwich struggle collectively could it damage Skippy’s confidence & momentum that he has built this season?

Stick him in a (hopefully) much improved Spurs squad next season and he will definitely be finding players who can make the most of that first pass above!!

Not sure but it’s an interesting conundrum.

I’d seen a suggestion that Norwich were looking to extend Skipp’s loan for another season. That’s not a bad idea, because as you say H there is a huge step up from the Championship to the PL.It would give him a good education in the higher level. However as noted below we need a player now who casn rotate with PEH,that is urgent.

I think it would be good to let him spend the first half of next season on loan at Norwich to get regular Prem game time and then bring him back in January. However we do need someone to rotate with PEH so either we buy someone else too or we will have to bring Skipp back in the summer. Do Norwich want Winks?
