“I think he’ll go…” – Former Spurs man makes big transfer claim about Tottenham star

By Mehdi Gokal -

Former Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy had previously claimed that he expects the striker to stay at Tottenham but it seems like he has had a change of opinion.

He now believes that Harry Kane could be on his way to Manchester United if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.

Kane’s future at Tottenham has been the subject of much speculation in recent months, with the striker yet to sign a new contract and linked with moves to a number of top European clubs.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are believed to be the two clubs most interested in signing Kane, with PSG also reportedly joining the race for his signature. However, Murphy believes that if Tottenham fail to secure a top-four finish this season, Kane will be on his way to Old Trafford.

He added that Tottenham are “falling off”, with the fans disgruntled and the squad not playing well.

Speaking to Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Murphy said:

“Do you know what, I got asked this a couple of weeks ago and I thought he’ll stay now. I did.

“Not just Conte going, they’re falling off, the fans are disgruntled, their squad is not playing well, probably not going to be in the Champions League by the looks of it – I don’t think so anyway, I think Newcastle and United will get those – and I think that’ll be enough.

“If they don’t get in the Champions League, I think he’ll go to United.”

Kane, who is about to turn 30, has yet to win a major trophy with Tottenham and could be tempted to leave in search of silverware.

While Tottenham will be desperate to hold on to their star striker, they may struggle to keep him if they fail to secure Champions League football for next season.

With Manchester United reportedly at the top of his transfer list, it could be a summer of big changes for both Kane and Tottenham.
