Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is peaking with form at the right time. The 28-year-old has helped the north London position itself where they could finish in the top-four this season and clinch UEFA Champions League football for 2022-23.
Furthermore, that form has carried over to the England national team, scoring in the friendly against Switzerland, leading English football pundit Chris Sutton to say he doesn’t understand the criticism Kane gets during an interview with BBC Radio (via HTIC).
“Harry Kane gets a lot of flak,” said Sutton. “I just don’t get it. I don’t get why he gets so much stick. I know he had a dodgy start to the season because he chucked his toys out of the pram after the Manchester City thing. But Harry Kane is a top player. I don’t understand the criticism of him.”
Kane’s strike against Switzerland was his 49th tally for the Three Lions in his career, putting him four away from Wayne Rooney, who has the England national team’s all-time scoring record.
The 28-year-old will hope to be the pillar that pushes Spurs to a top-four finish this season. Kane has his future to think about, but having Champions League football for next season would go a long way in helping him see the project is heading in the right direction.
I don’t think it’s wise for any Manure fan to call any other set of fans ‘entitled’. Unbelievable, read the room ffs! 😂
Imagine just how much more Manure fans would whinge if average season ticket prices up there were anything like the level they are at Spurs and the Goons.
But who is giving Kane flak Mr Sutton. A lot of words together. People are free to give their opinion, do compare and contrast. Try being Messi or Ronaldo. It is the fan’s rights to say whatever they want, but Chris turning into pretzel on people’s opinon. Poor Harry.
Funny stuff coming from a Manure fan.. The post Sir Alex era has produced a culture of entitled whingers in your fan base.. Hardly surprising considering you’ve spent nearly as much as City in the last decade, but your team is no better than ours.
That’s rich coming from the biggest whingers of the lot, Mancunians. Provided you’re not a Surrey based United fan that is.
Apparently, if there was a trophy for the club with the whiniest, most entitled fans, then Spurs would be right up there.
Harry made a big mistake signing that new contract he needed a top agent to represent him not some bloke (brother).
Slightly o/t I was reading about Modric recently although he knuckled down at Spurs after his move to Racist Scum FC was blocked he still bears a grudge against Levy & Tottenham. Doesnt matter a jot to Spurs now but it does help explain the impact on a player who is forced to stay when he wants to move.
Harry has done well to partially get over it.
Apparently if there was a trophy for the club where players win nothing then move on to win things at better clubs then Spurs would be right up there.
I quote this as a supposed fact but as always if there is a Levyista out there (shiny stadium/I remember the 90s/dont want to do a Citeh)
who can disprove this I will be happy to put my hands up as this isnt my research just some journos.
Ah Eddie, another project.Who wouldn’t want to waste more of a shortening career on the promise of perhaps jam tomorrow.
