‘I don’t know…’: 13-goal ace weighs in on uncertain Tottenham future

By Saikat -

Irish international striker Troy Parrott is uncertain about his future at Tottenham Hotspur.

Troy Parrott joined the Tottenham youth team back in 2017 and he has been subject to multiple loan spells in recent years. He was promoted to the first-team squad last summer before being sent on loan to Excelsior.

The 22-year-old striker has featured in 30 matches for the Dutch club and has contributed towards 18 goals (13 goals, 5 assists). While he has been a standout performer for Excelsior, Parrott is not sure about what the future holds for him.

While talking to Voetbal Primeur, the Irish international said: “I don’t know exactly what will happen. I still have two matches here and then perhaps international matches, but I am looking forward to next season”.

Parrott will return to his parent club Tottenham at the end of this season. Excelsior will square up against NAC twice in the playoffs to try and avoid relegation. The on-loan Spurs forward will try and help his side avoid the drop.

While he is focused on the task at hand, the 22-year-old has no clarity about his future. He is unsure of whether he will be a part of the Tottenham squad next season.

Having done a decent job while on loan at Excelsior, Parrott would love to be a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans next season. The Australian manager is looking for more firepower in attack. While they are expected to sign a world-class striker, they could use the academy graduate.

Parrott dreams of being a part of Spurs’ first team, he said: “I’ve always wanted that, ever since I came to the UK as a boy”.

With his contract expiring in 2025, the player will hope he can convince Postecoglou to give him a chance next season.
