Cold comfort from José Mourtinho here, in respect of Harry Kane’s disallowed goal at Bramall Lane, for both his players, and for those that seek to take a dig at the Portuguese every time an opportunity arises.
The easy route for Mourinho would have undoubtedly been to sat before the Zoomed in press and mope and moan over the travesty. Instead, the gaffer made his position extremely clear. He’s furious with Oliver – but can’t do anything about it, and he’s still raging with his squad.
I don’t believe that Mauricio Pochettino had it in him to verbally nail gun anyone to a dressing room wall – but I do know that Mourinho wouldn’t have achieved what he has in the game to date, by being everybody’s pal.
Mourinho’s just an aging prize fighter who’s accepted big money to take a dive. He talks like he’ll come out swinging and do the business, but he’s really just going through the motions against younger lads with better equipment.
