“I am not sure” – Tottenham striker makes worrying admission about his future at the club

By Mehdi Gokal -

Young Tottenham striker Troy Parrott has admitted that he is not sure where his future lies but hopes it is at Tottenham.

The Irishman is widely regarded as one of the most promising players in the Tottenham academy, having scored 17 goals and provided three assists for the U18s.

Despite his talent, Parrott has yet to break into the first team and has been loaned out to several English clubs to aid his development.

Last season, he scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 47 appearances for MK Dons. However, his loan spell at Preston North End this season has not been as successful, with just two goals in 21 games.

Speaking to Lancs Live about his future, Parrott said:

“I am not sure. I hope I have a future at Tottenham – I have always said that’s where I want to play. But, we will see how the end of the season goes, then take it into the summer and take it as it comes.”

Parrott’s future at Tottenham has been the subject of much speculation, with many fans and pundits eager to see him break into the first team.

The youngster can however take inspiration from Harry Kane, another academy product who has gone on to became Tottenham’s record goal scorer.

Kane, who also had a series of loan spells before making his mark in the first team, has become a legend at Tottenham, and Parrott will be hoping to emulate his success.

It remains to be seen whether Parrott will get the chance to make his mark at Tottenham.

Meanwhile Spurs are being linked with other established strikers as long-term Kane replacements. One such player is Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic who according to a recent report the club are ready to sell if Spurs can pay cost £67m.
