Huge blow for Ange as three of Spurs’ influential first team players could miss upto 6 weeks of action

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham could be in for a nightmare situation this season due to international football.

Asian games and AFCON which takes place January onwards means Tottenham Hotspur could end up being without the star trio of Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and skipper Heung-min Son.

According to London World, Bissouma and Sarr can miss six weeks of club football depending on how far Mali and Senegal progress in the African Cup of Nations.

Similarly Heung-min Son will be travelling with Jurgen Klinsmann’s Taegeuk Warriors to Qatar from mid January until first week of February.

During this period Spurs are scheduled to play Manchester United, Brentford, Everton and Brighton.

This will come as a huge test for Ange Postecoglou who has had a stunning start to the campaign.

Tottenham are currently top of the league and are yet to be beaten. They have won 6 games and drawn 2.

Ange Postecoglou has picked up back to back manager of the month awards meanwhile Son claimed the player of the month for September after Maddison won it last month.

It has been a fairytale start to Tottenham’s season but the Tottenham sqaud is not the biggest and losing three players who have been so impactful for Spurs could be detrimental for their season.

Spurs might have to plan ahead and bring in some January reinforcements if they want to continue challenging for top 4 and perhaps even the league if they are still in it by then.
