Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of managers in recent weeks and the formal Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly on their radar.
The 35-year-old was relieved of his duties by the German club recently and he has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
There were reports that the German manager has chosen to walk away from the Tottenham job because of the absence of a sporting director at the club. Former director Fabio Paratici recently received a 30-month ban from footballing activities for his financial misdoings at Juventus.
Nagelsmann reportedly only wants to join the club with a sporting director in place. According to a report from the Times, talks between Nagelsmann and the London club broke down because of that but things have now turned around.
Apparently, Julian Nagelsmann is ready to take over at Tottenham and the two parties are expected to resume talks.
However, the German manager will seek assurances regarding the appointment of a sporting director, and he is likely to have a say in the appointment as well.
Tottenham need to bring in a quality director who will help them bring in top-class talents during the summer transfer window.
There is no doubt that Nagelsmann is a quality manager who is rated highly around Europe, but he needs the right reinforcements in order to get Tottenham back in the Champions League and competing for trophies once again.
