Heskey urges Spurs to move for former Germany international

Emile Heskey claims that Sami Khedira has something to offer to Tottenham and urged them to move for the Juventus midfielder.

Khedira has been frozen out of the Juventus first team this season and the German is likely never to play for them again.

He recently spoke about his admiration for the Premier League and Jose Mourinho, who managed him at Real Madrid. (Football365)

The midfielder has now been linked with a move to the English top-flight with Everton and Tottenham rumoured to be interested.

However, not many fans or football lovers are convinced that Tottenham or any other Premier League side should take a chance on him.

But Heskey believes that having a winner like him in the Spurs’ dressing room would be invaluable to the team.

He says that Khedira’s status as a proven winner will hand everyone around him a boost should he move to Tottenham.

He said to HITC: “(Proven winners) make a massive impact because everyone looks up to them. It gives everyone a lift because it shows where the club is going. It’s nothing but positivity when someone like that comes into the changing room,” Heskey adds.

“He’d fit in (at Tottenham) in the sense of giving you people who understand what it is to win things. Having that within Tottenham would really push them to be title challengers. People at the moment are saying ‘yeah they are at the top but will they fall away’?

“If you bring more and more players like him in, it will give a different mentality.”
