“He’s having a laugh…” “How can anyone take him seriously…” José has left these fans in a state of disbelief

By The Boy -

José Mourinho has set off a number of fans after making favourable comments about Joe Hart and Hugo Lloris when talking to Sky Sports which prompted me to produce this piece on the financial mess that we’re all in – but that I fear so few have allowed themselves to really think about.

It’s true that Hart isn’t the keeper he was a decade ago, and that Hugo Lloris is rapidly approaching a point whereby his ambitious years are behind him. I actually believe that for Hugo, the indignity of being expelled from the Europa League hurt him more than most as he knew that that was realistically his last chance for a major club honour in the Premier League. Which makes sense when you ponder it, as he and Mourinho were both angry, but from slightly different perspectives. That breaking point in the personal relationships within the dressing room at Hotspur Way is just another irreconcilable issue that is eating away at the club.

These fans can make wisecracks all they want, but the reality is that Nick Pope or whoever is highly unlikely to be arriving anytime soon.

We were put in record debt before the pandemic by a chairman with a pathetic record of investment in team building. Pope will be in demand and thus more likely to be lured to a club with ambition. Jose has no chance unless Uncle Joe decides it’s a vanity project.

The problem is, most keepers don’t reach their peak until their mid to late 20’s…

Hart as first choice? Burnley’s third choice becomes Tottenham’s first? Perfect!

It’s still hilarious to me that Hart IS the No.2, and in line to be starter if Hugo leaves. 🤣 The gift that keeps on giving….you have to laugh or….well, ya know

Young Alfie. Good keeper. The club have high hopes for him. Hart at tottenham has been brilliant

What exactly is he supposed to say, that ‘yeah, keeper is a bit of a nightmare for us at the moment, the department is full of clowns’.

And, whilst Hart may not be anyone’s first choice anymore, he is an experienced backup and a good egg in the squad. And I actually think Hugo is every bit as good as Pope.

What’s this Alfie Whiteman kid supposed to be like, any hope of a natural succession in this position?
