‘He’s a superstar really’ – Former Premier League ace drools over Spurs player

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur picked up a 6-2 win over Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday evening and Son Heung-min ended his goal drought with a second-half hat-trick.

The 30-year-old had been subjected to a lot of criticism because of his mediocre start to the season but he produced a spectacular performance after coming on as a second-half substitute to silence his critics.

At a stage when the game was finely poised at 3-2 in favour of the home side, the South Korean international came on and scored some spectacular goals to hand Antonio Conte’s side the all-important three points.

Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has now reflected on the performance of the South Korean international against Leicester City and his likeability as a person in general.

The response from the crowd when Son was coming on and when he managed to get his name on the scoresheet speaks volumes about how he has managed to endear himself to millions.

Hargreaves said to Premier League productions (h/t HITC): “Fans just absolutely love him. Before he was coming on, the crowd went bananas. I think he made a point (during his celebration). He put his fingers to his lips.

“He’s a superstar really isn’t he?! He is probably one of the most likeable guys in the whole league. Just the way he smiles and plays. Everybody that meets him and knows him, loves him. The way the crowd and his teammates celebrated the first goal, just shows how much he means to Tottenham. But to the whole league. That’s why I was saying (before the game) don’t drop him.

“He has got millions of fans and he probably just won another million.”

There is no doubt that Son Heung-Min is one of the best players in the Premier League and the Tottenham fan base will breathe a collective sigh of relief to see the talisman forward back amongst the goals once again.

Antonio Conte will be hoping to challenge for the major trophies this season and he will need players like Harry Kane and Son in top form to ensure a successful season.

I am beginning to wonder if this is a blog full of narcissistic issues.

Conte benched Son at the right time, and got a much desired tune out of him.

“So we knew all along.”

Get a grip on your egos, fellas. Good God.

Most of the time it seems like there 3 against are 2 so all they are doing is getting overran and putting out fires whilst panicking on the ball and losing it. They can work on all you put above and have freedom knowing the other 2 will sit back . All professional players have creativity if given the time on the ball and people make the right runs .
It will never happen but would like to dee it tried more often especially when we are utterly spanked in the middle of the park and are top 3 arent even touching the ball.

I can’t see it.. Our holding midfielders aren’t skilled enough going forward to do this.. You would need a player or two like Declan Rice in there… If you’re going with three centre mids then you need a blend of styles and abilities.. A centre mid can specialise as a deep lying, or box to box, or regista, or Mezzala, or anchor, or roaming playmaker… You need a blend of these to play 3 in the middle.. Our lot would involve a lot of sideway passing..

It’s alright having those three in the middle if we’re in the lead and shutting up shop.. This tactic wouldn’t be wise to start the match with.

All makes sound sense to me. We can see it, why can’t the £1 million a month manager.

Im well for the 3 in midfield they all work extremely hard and and tackle well ,yeah their creativeness is not great but with 3 of them and good movement they only need to do short sharp passes.
Peri peri left wingback and kula on the right the top free rotate and pray are average defence [cuti excluded mostly] sort their stuff out.
Anyway thats my football manager fifa 22 sorted ,it will never happen but hey.

Just shows the fans were right and Conte was wrong.
No-one was saying he should be banished – just try something different and you did the rest as they say is history.

For sure this management game is pretty straightforward
So next up – Emerson will never be a WB (so sort it)
Sessegnon will never be anything I dont think I can remember my 2 mates Dav&Dier getting skinned so badly but this wasnt one bad game he constantly shows very little.
Havent seen this mentioned anywhere but we looked a different outfit when Bis. came on this old 3 in m/f is a doddle (Son likes it).
