‘Here we go’ – Player due to travel to London ahead of a medical as Spurs close in on first signing of the window

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham are closing in on signing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

Things have developed quickly in the Werner front today with Spurs having gone from being linked to almost completing the deal in a day.

The links with the former Chelsea man came out of nowhere, with Spurs reportedly hijacking the deal from under the nose of Manchester United.

Fabrizio Romano has now given the deal his trademark ‘here we go’.

The transfer expert claims that the 27-year-old will join the North London club on loan with an option to buy on a permanent deal.

While, Spurs are said to be covering his salary during the loan spell.

He adds that Werner is due to travel to London on Saturday to get his medical done.

In his brief stint at Chelsea, he has made 89 appearances, he has scored 23 goals and assisted 21. But only 10 of those goals came in the Premier League.

Werner now has another chance to prove his worth in the Premier League with Tottenham.
