Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has been heavily criticised since his big-money move from Everton.
The 26-year-old South American forward has not been able to live up to the expectations at the north London club, but he seems to be getting back to his best once again.
The Brazilian has eight goals and three assists to his name across all competitions this season and he has clearly improved on his performances from last season. However, former Premier League player Dion Dublin is still not quite convinced that he is ready to lead the line for Tottenham in the long term.
Dublin claims that the Brazilian has all the tools to develop into a top-class forward, but he needs to perform consistently.
“Not yet, not yet. Despite some really good games, and that’s a really good goal, he’s doing really well, but I want to see more. I’ve seen him play for his country, I want to see the guile he’s got, I want to see him hold up the ball, stay on his feet, he has a lot of talent, if he can consistently score goals and get one in two or one in three until the end of the season, he will have a good tally. He has everything you need, but just give it to me more consistently,” Dublin said on Premier League Productions.
Richarlison has shown his quality with Everton in the past, and there is no doubt that he could be a very good player for Tottenham in the coming seasons. It will be interesting to see if he can regain his form and confidence in the coming months.
His performances in recent weeks will certainly encourage the fans and the manager. He was expected to step up and fill the void by Harry Kane and those are big shoes to fill. It will be interesting to see if the Brazilian can step up and deliver consistently now.
Tottenham paid big money for him and he will want to justify the outlay in the coming seasons and silence his critics with his performances on the pitch.
